Hood Hargett Breakfast Club to Hold Scholarship Fundraiser

CHARLOTTE, N.C., July 12, 2010 … Hood Hargett Breakfast Club will raise money for its Liz Murray Scholarship Fund during an annual Casino Night event. Tickets are $80 and must be purchased in advance.
    
The July 29 event will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Hampton Inn & Suites SouthPark at Phillips Place. Casino Night, which features live music, a silent auction and Las Vegas-style games, is the nonprofit organization’s biggest annual fundraiser.

“The Liz Murray Scholarship Fund provides very deserving high school students in Charlotte a head start with their college educations,” said Jenn Snyder, executive director of Hood Hargett Breakfast Club. “We raised more than $25,000 last year, and we’re expecting another big crowd this year.”

The Liz Murray Scholarship Fund awards eight Charlotte-area high school students with a combined $13,000 toward their college educations over the course of the school year. Hood Hargett Breakfast Club has given more than $180,000 to more than 150 local high school students.
