Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House to Open in Piedmont Town Center

Charlotte, N.C., April 18, 2007 … The Eagle has landed in SouthPark. Heating things up in the already steaming dining hot spot of Piedmont Town Center, Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House will enhance South Charlotte’s burgeoning restaurant scene with its luxurious style, prime beef and extensive cellar of more than 600 wine selections.

Charlotte is the seventh location for Del Frisco’s, which is also open in Dallas and Ft. Worth, Texas; Orlando; Denver; Las Vegas; and New York.

“One of the keys to our success has been the care we’ve taken when selecting a city for a new Del Frisco’s,” said Dee Lincoln, one of Del Frisco’s founders. “Charlotte is a dynamic city that’s drawing global attention as a center for business. And, the city’s blossoming reputation in the culinary community made it a perfect choice for Del Frisco’s.”

Del Frisco’s is known for attention to detail in its sleek décor, and the Charlotte location is no exception. Patrons bask in the luxury of accoutrements including:

  • Soaring windows that overlook the SouthPark area
  • Dining vestibules in addition to tables throughout the restaurant
  • A second-story mezzanine, with its own bar, overlooking the main floor – sure to become the place to see and be seen at Del Frisco’s
  • A lower level, accessible by escalator or elevator, featuring a lounge and exclusive wine cellar dining room that seats 75

Del Frisco’s menu offers only the best selection of meats and seafood, with prime beef as its headliner. A special section designated “Lagniappe,” meaning “a little something extra,” appeals to smaller appetites with its entrees and included side. Other customer favorites include:

  • Double Eagle strip steak
  • Cold-water Australian lobster tails
  • Jumbo lump crab cake appetizer with Cajun lobster sauce
  • Spinach supreme and potato au gratin, both signature sides

Initially, Del Frisco’s will offer dinner service only. The restaurant plans to expand to lunch service this summer. To make advance reservations for dinner or special events in the wine room, call (704) 552-5502. For more information, visit www.delfriscos.com.

The Piedmont Town Center Del Frisco’s will ultimately employ a staff of 100-150. Rick Cheesman, the founding and current general manager of Sullivan’s Steakhouse in SouthEnd (a sister concept), will serve as Del Frisco’s general manager. Bob Kalish, formerly head chef at Sullivan’s SouthEnd, will serve as executive chef.

Grand Opening
Del Frisco’s grand opening event is the evening of April 28. The invitation-only gala will benefit the Police Benevolent Fund of Mecklenburg County. At this event, Dee Lincoln and Rick Cheesman will present representatives of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department with a check for $20,000. Guests will be encouraged to join Del Frisco’s by making individual donations.
