Lake James, N.C., Dec. 12, 2008 … Crescent Communities on Lake James has released Obeth Road at 1780, the first collection of waterfront homesites to be released on Lake James in more than a year.
Obeth Road at 1780 features eight waterfront homesites and one lake-access homesite on a quiet peninsula. The homesites, which start at $350,000, range from more than 2 acres to almost 8 acres and feature generous building envelopes that can accommodate multiple dwellings.
“Obeth Road at 1780 is in a great location with stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the lake’s main channel,” said Fletcher Edens, broker in charge. “This is an opportunity to find the perfect site for your mountain retreat.”
All lake-access homesites in 1780 have a reserved slip in a community dock. All owners in 1780 are automatically members of Camp Lake James – a lake adventure center with an open-air Social Hall, outdoor amphitheater, Expedition Center, two pools, activities fields, and a full-time staff to help members plan their next adventure on the lake.
The 1780 community is named for the year the patriot Overmountain Men militia marched through the Lake James region to South Carolina to defeat the British in the Battle of Kings Mountain. An extension of the Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail – a linear national park – runs through 1780.
Just 45 minutes from Asheville and 90 minutes from Charlotte, Crescent’s communities on Lake James include 1780, Old Wildlife Club and Black Forest. Homesites range from 2 to 22 acres, and each community has architectural guidelines to ensure that homes blend with their surroundings and the area retains its natural beauty for generations.
