Raleigh, N.C., May 12, 2008 … Hidden Lake, a community near Wake Forest, N.C., has received the prestigious “Green Project of the Year” Award from the National Association of Home Builders. Representatives from Crescent Communities, the developer of Hidden Lake, accepted the award at a ceremony in New Orleans on Sunday.
“We are excited about this honor,” said Mike Burnett, senior vice president for Crescent Communities. “We’ve worked incredibly hard from the beginning to make sure this community is developed around the land, not on top of it.”
Here are a few of the environmentally friendly features contributing to this recognition:
Centered around a 75-acre spring-fed private lake, Hidden Lake is a gated community featuring 124 homesites spread throughout 600 acres. More than 200 acres are devoted to green space, including a 100-acre Audubon Preserve.
Hidden Lake offers more than four miles of nature trails; canoe and kayak launches and a fishing pier; an outdoor pavilion for community and family events; and the Lake House, which serves as the community amenities center. For more information, visit www.hiddenlake-crescent.com.
