Obama Campaign Manager to Speak at Hood Hargett Breakfast Club
CHARLOTTE, N.C., Jan. 28, 2010 … Steve Hildebrand, deputy national campaign manager for President Barack Obama in 2008, will be the featured speaker at the next meeting of Hood Hargett Breakfast Club, Charlotte’s premier networking organization. The event will be held at Carmel Country Club Feb. 12 at 7:30 a.m.
Hildebrand joined the presidential campaign in September 2006 before Obama announced his candidacy. He helped craft a groundbreaking grassroots strategy that featured savvy Internet marketing and the use of small donors to raise $750 million – shattering fund-raising records and changing the political landscape forever.
“We’re excited to hear Steve’s insight on one of our country’s most historic elections,” said Jenn Snyder, executive director of Hood Hargett Breakfast Club. “We expect a big turnout.”
Hildebrand’s extensive political career includes managing races in South Dakota, Iowa and Minnesota. He oversaw the Midwestern states for the Clinton-Gore re-election campaign in 1996, and he served as political director of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee from 1997 to 1998.
More than 40 local and regional businesses are members of Hood Hargett Breakfast Club.
